Since the last release notes of January, multiple releases have taken place. Read below for more information of what's new in the past two months.
Menu changes in the software
The menu structure of Search has seen major changes to create better seperation between Search configuration (using the Site Search module) and Search integration on the website.
You now find a new Integration module. Here, you can set up your site integration for Spotler Activate Search v1 or v2, using Snippets, Languages, Translations, User Experience and Client templates. Before, you could find these settings under Site Search --> Advanced. The Data module, which before consisted of Data Feeds and Data Fields, can now also be found under Integration --> Feed.
When using a v1 Search template, you will see Site integration v1 and Site integration v2. This is to show you can start working with the v2 template too. When using a v2 template, you can switch to seeing v2 only in the Settings module. If this toggle is on, you will only see Site integration under the Integration module. So without the v1 or v2 behind it.
Translations (v2)
The translations page within Site integration v2 is improved. For example, you can add your own translations by clicking the plus icon at the bottom of the page. A new row will open where you can fill in the Key class on the left, followed by the Value on the right.
You can also add your own hosted language file in default or custom templates, by adding the location url of the hosted file to the template. If you are using a default template, make sure you have the default labels from the Translations page in your own language file. For the convention, we use the i18next documentation.
Standard, translations are default in English (en_US) and Dutch (nl_NL). If you want other options you can contact our Support department.
User experience (v2)
The v2 user experience configuration is now used in default templates, and also available for custom templates. It has more seperate configuration options available than the v1 integration, giving you more creative freedom over different parts of the Search.
Other changes and improvements
- There have been some role changes: Activate integration and Settings are now available for Index admins, and Snippets and Templates are now available for Developers.
- New performance emails send with Spotler SendPro.
