Product Feed Setup
Follow these steps to set up your product feed in Channable for Spotler Activate Search.
Step 1 – Set up your product feed
Log in to your Channable Dashboard, go to Feeds, and click Add new feed. Search for ‘Sooqr’ and select it. Make sure to choose Product under Type of Feed. Give the feed a name and proceed with the next steps.
Step 2 – Categories
In this step, you can organize products into categories. Channable by default uses one layer of categorization, but you can add more layers to help filter products in Spotler Activate Search. For example, you can categorize shoes under the main filter “Clothing and accessories” with the “Shoes” subfilter. Using subcategories is optional but recommended for better filtering.
Step 3 – Rules
Rules allow you to customize the feed in various ways. They can be used to supplement missing information, remove items based on certain criteria, or adjust fields. Rules are optional for the product feed in Spotler Activate Search, but some may be required to filter out items without an ID or missing price information.
Step 4 – Map fields and finalize
Once you’ve set up your feed and rules, you need to map the fields from your catalog to the fields required by Spotler Activate Search. The following fields are mandatory for product feeds:
- ID
- url
- title
Although other fields are optional, adding more data helps make your products easier to find, so we recommend including as much information as possible.
Configuring Family Products
In case of family products (or configurable products):
- Is_parent (Y/N) – Only for the parent product
- Assoc ID (familyID) – To identify the whole family
Handling Discounted Product Prices
In case of discounted products: Use ‘fromprice’ for the regular price and ‘retailprice’ for the discounted price. ‘Retailprice’ is always the current price of the product.
Step 5 – Quality check
After generating the feed, Channable’s quality check will make sure you’re not missing any information. It will point out any essential information missing or being incorrectly formatted, as well as offering suggestions to improve your data in several ways.
Step 6 – Preview and retrieve the feed URL
In this step, you can preview your feed output. You will also be provided with a URL for your feed, which is used by Spotler Activate Search to retrieve the feed data. This link is the one you use in setting up your data feed in Spotler Activate Search.
Content Feed Setup
Follow these steps to set up your content feed in Channable for Spotler Activate Search.
Step 1 – Set up your content feed
Log in to your Channable Dashboard, go to Feeds, and click Add new feed. Search for ‘Sooqr’ and select it. Make sure to choose Content under Type of Feed. Give the feed a name and proceed with the next steps.
There is no need to categorize content items, so skip directly to the next step.
Step 2 – Rules
In this step, you can set up rules to filter content items based on the *content_type* field. For example, you might exclude products or filter by specific content types such as blog posts, informational pages, or store locations. Use an *OR* rule to include multiple content types.
Managing Content Feed Types
Your content feed might contain several different types of content:
Informational pages, category pages, blog posts, or store locations may have different values for the *content_type* field. Make sure to add an *OR* rule for each content type you wish to include in the content feed.
Step 3 – Finalize
Map all required fields for the content feed. The mandatory fields are:
- id
- title
- description
- url
- content_type
Any other fields can be added to improve filtering and searchability, but they are not mandatory.
Step 4 – Quality and Preview
Once you’ve saved and run the feed, Channable will generate a quality report, highlighting any missing or incorrectly mapped data. After addressing any issues, proceed to the preview step to get the feed URL, which will be used by Spotler Activate Search to retrieve the content data.
