Advanced: Preferences

Just as with all User Experience options, there are some more Site Search preferences you can set via option sliders.

Stemming & language features Enable stemming and language features for supported languages. Read more information on stemming in this article
AND function

By default, the Activate Search plugin searches with OR, so the query ‘red dress’ would lead to all products with ‘red’ and ‘dress’. Enabling this option will only show products with ‘red’ AND ‘dress’.

Wildcard before and after query

Find partial matches in words or numbers. So the query on 'date' will find 'update'.

Wildcard before query

The results must match or end with the query. So a query on 'load' will find 'download'.
Wildcard on all words This will enable the wildcard settings for multiple words in queries. So a query on 'downl upda' will find 'download updates'.
Use browser language Use the visitors browser language as default.
Enable Google Analytics search tracking Enable and specify a Google search query parameter. Read this article on how to analyse search results in Google Analytics.
Enable exact phrase queries When enabled, this ignores the wildcard settings and asks for exact phrases.

For more information on wildcards, read the article: What are the wildcard options?

Combined content types

In the combined content type section, you let us know how we can differentiate between a content item and a product, so your search engine works for both and will show the right interface (no prices for content items).

The name of the field in your data that provides the type of content of the item. This is used to seperate content and products.

Content type value

The value of the field in your data that provides the content type.

Content item icon URL
